The accident occurred around 10:10 PM Saturday in Galloway Township.

NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder says the woman was walking on the railroad right of way when the accident occurred. But it's not yet clear why she was walking there, and her name has not been released.

There were no reported injuries among the crew or the 70 passengers aboard the train, which was heading north from Atlantic City to Philadelphia.

Train service in the area was suspended while NJ Transit police investigated the accident. Passengers were put on buses to continue their journeys.
