Tragic Accident Claims the Life of a Toddler in Millville

An apparent tragic accident claimed the life of a toddler in Millville yesterday morning.

WMGM-TV reports a 15-month-old boy drowned while in the care of a babysitter Tuesday morning. Police were called to Sunshine Daycare on Shar Lane Boulevard in Millville just before lunchtime yesterday after the toddler fell into a fishpond. Rescue workers attempted to revive the child but their attempts were unsuccessful.

Authorities say the day care center's owner was caring for six children and was inside tending to one of them at the time the accident occurred. After realizing a child was missing, the woman found the boy in a goldfish pond.

Police continue to investigate the incident but they say it appears to be a horrible accident at this time.
