Spring is about a month away and if you are wishing for that first warm, 70 degree sunny day where you euphorically declare that winter is over...

...keep waiting.

The folks at AccuWeather provide a 45-day forecast, which, beyond 5 or 7 days out, is just a guess at what it might do based on long-range computer models and stuff -- in other words, don't plan a wedding based on it. And after a cold winter where temperatures were below zero last weekend, it's safe to say that many of us are wishing for that first warm day of spring. Based on what AccuWeather is thinking, we have a long way to go.

AccuWeather's 45-day forecast for our area shows March might be relatively warm with many days getting into the 50s, which is about average for South Jersey. And it looks like highs in the 50s will continue into the first half of April. So, going by their guess, don't dust off the shorts and flip-flops just yet.

And, if in case you are wondering, our average high doesn't hit 70 degrees until the middle of May -- that's not to say it won't happen before then, but we do have a long way to go.

Maybe the groundhog was right...
