2015 Hurricane Season

After Irene, Sandy and last weekend's storms, New Jersey knows something about powerful storms and massive beach erosion. A lawmaker wants to reactivate the group responsible for dealing with it.

Governor Chris Christie has declared a State of Emergency for New Jersey ahead of the threat of Hurricane Joaquin.

It’s still too early to say if Tropical Storm Joaquin will move up the East Coast at the end of this week and bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, high surf, beach erosion and flooding to areas along the Jersey Shore.

Tropical Depression Eleven, as of 5PM Monday, was located several hundred miles southwest of Bermuda and forecasters say it could strengthen into Tropical Storm Joaquin on Tuesday.

The third tropical system of the 2015 hurricane season has formed off of the Mid Atlantic coastline, but it poses no threat to the East Coast.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has released their forecast for the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
