Just in case you haven't heard the news, in the near future, you will be able to do 70 MPH legally on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The speed limit on the road was raised last month. Should 70 be the new 65 on our roadways?

NJ.com reports that according to officials at the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, there are no immediate plans to raise the speed limits on the Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. The last increase came back in 1998 when the speed limit was raised from 55 to 65 on certain roadways.

As for someone who travels the GSP on a daily basis, I couldn't agree more. It's almost impossible to do 65 in the left lane on the Parkway. Someone would be on on top of you in a heartbeat looking to do 80 to 90 MPH in the fast lane. I am fine with leaving the speed limit right where it is for the foreseeable future.

What do you think about raising the speed limit? Take our poll and let us know.
