A Mullica Township Police officer fired one shot during a traffic stop this evening.

Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain has told the Press of Atlantic City a police officer fired at least one shot during a car stop in Mullica Township this evening near the intersection of Darmstadt Avenue and Moss Mill Road.

Sources told WCAU-TV that the driver of the car may have grabbed the officer’s arm, which prompted the officer to fire the weapon. The suspect fled the scene following the shooting.
