Rachel Canning, the Morris County teenager who sued her parents for financial support, is back home with her family in Lincoln Park.

“She returned home last night. Everything went great,” said Angelo Sarno, the attorney for Rachel’s parents. “As far as my client’s concerned, it’s ancient history. It’s done. They’ve welcomed her back in the house.”

Sarno asked for privacy for the family, claiming the dispute “got out of hand” to a point that no one in the family wanted or expected.

“There is a long road ahead. The healing needs to begin,” he said during a Wednesday afternoon press conference in Roseland.

No Canning family members were present.

Sarno added the lawsuit is still pending, but the matter is over “on a different level than legally.”

An earliler statement from Snyder & Sarno indicated “her return home is not contingent on any financial and/or other considerations.”

In a press release posted yesterday, the law firm announced they are now representing Sean and Elizabeth Canning of Lincoln Park in the lawsuit brought against them by 18-year-old daughter Rachel. She asked the court to force them to pay child support, her tuition at Morris Catholic High School, future college tuition and her legal fees, despite the fact she has moved out of the house in a dispute over following the rules of the Canning home.

A judge in Morristown last week ruled against immediately forcing Rachel Canning‘s parents to pay her $650 weekly child support and pay for her remaining year of high school tuition, as she requested in her lawsuit. Judge Peter Bogaard scheduled a hearing for next month to decide whether to require her parents to pay for Canning’s college tuition.
