A local effort to collect prom dress and accessories to be given to high school girls in Atlantic County who can't afford them continues through Thursday, March 10.

Project Prom 2016 is a volunteer event collecting and distribute prom appropriate dresses, shoes, jewelry, and handbags.

Girls from Atlantic County that are in need of dresses will be able to “shop” for a free dress and other items on March 12th and 13th at Kensington Furniture. "Any high school girl in Atlantic County with a school ID can come in for a free dress,” Renee Kane, who chairs Project Prom told the Jewish Community Voice.

Project Prom originally ran from 2005 to 2011. This year, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Atlantic City is the beneficiary of the dress collection.
