The Atlantic County Prosecutors Office says a man died early Sunday morning of injuries received from being assaulted in his home on December 23rd.

After receiving a 911 call on the night on December 23rd, Pleasantville Police responded to the 100 block of Greenfield Avenue for a report that two people inside the home had been discovered, both bleeding and suffering from what was described as, "significant physical trauma."

The victims, 30-year-old Jahlil Hunter and 22-year-old Ebony Harris, both of the address that police responded to, were taken to ARMC-City to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Since then, Harris has been taken to Cooper Hospital for further treatment.

The Prosecutors Office says Hunter died of his injuries early Sunday morning. An autopsy determined his cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries to his head.

The Major Crimes Unit and Pleasantville Police continue to investigate this incident. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Pleasantville PD at (609) 909-7666.
