Philly Man Arrested in Atlantic City For Allegedly Robbing Two Banks In Two Days

A Philadelphia man, wanted for allegedly robbing a bank in Center City on Wednesday, was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly robbing the Cape Savings Bank branch in Atlantic City.

Around 9:00 Thursday morning, an off-duty Atlantic City Police officer was told the Cape Savings Bank branch in the 1500 block of Pacific Avenue was just robbed and a person pointed out the suspect who was running away. The officer chased the suspect and was eventually arrested around two blocks from the scene. Police say evidence from the bank robbery was located on the suspect and when he was transported back to the bank, he was positively identified by bank employees.

The suspect was identified as Keith Ney of Philadelphia. Detectives from the Atlantic City Police Department as well as a special agent from the FBI responded to the bank and determined that Ney was arrested for robbing the same Cape Savings Bank location back in 2010. The investigation also determined Ney fit the description of a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery on Market Street in Center City Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Police and the FBI say federal charges are now pending against Ney for the Cape Savings Bank robbery Thursday and the Philadelphia bank robbery Wednesday.
