One person was killed in a one-vehicle crash on the Black Horse Pike in Hamilton Township Thursday afternoon.

In a preliminary investigation, police say a car was traveling westbound on Route 322 and for an unknown reason the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car left the road, overturned, and crashed into a tree causing severe damage to the vehicle and trapping the driver. The driver was extracted and flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Campus and was later pronounced dead. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification to family. The Black Horse Pike was closed for about 90 minutes while the scene was cleared and investigated.
