Gov. Chris Christie has ordered flags at state buildings to fly at half-staff on Tuesday to honor the victims of Friday's terrorist attack in Paris.

"The evil perpetrators of these atrocities callously took the lives of well over one hundred innocent people and injured hundreds of other, among those killed was Nohemi Gonzalez, a 23 year-old American college student from California," read the Executive Order issued by Christie.

The governor, who drew upon his own personal story about 9/11 in a campaign speech on Saturday about the attacks in Paris, said both incidents "represent an assault on civilized people throughout the world, and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms."

He also echoed the sentiments of that campaign speech calling upon leaders in the United States, France and other countries to "take decisive action to deliver justice to those responsible for these attacks, and to ensure the safety of innocent people in the future."
