New Jersey Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-2) took a major departure away from his fellow Democratic colleague State Senator Jim Whelan (D-2) today.

This was first reported earlier today on Hurley in the Morning" on WPG Talk Radio 1450.

Mazzeo took part this morning in a panel discussion during the 19th Annual East Coast Gaming & IGaming Congress. The panel discussion was about bringing a casino to The Meadowlands.

Mazzeo made it clear that he disagrees with Whelan on this issue. Mazzeo took a formal position of opposition for the first time when he mentioned Whelan and his disagreement with him by name.

The Republicans have been running a MeadowlandsMazzeo.com website to mock Mazzeo's previous statements about this issue. Mazzeo has taken that issue off of the table today with his unambiguous opposition to any gaming outside of Atlantic City.

Mazzeo will appear in "Hurley in the Morning," tomorrow (Friday) at 7:05 a.m.
