A 56-year-old Port Republic man walked out of the Family Dollar store in on New York Road in Smithville yesterday and saw a man rummaging through his car. The victim confronted the suspect, then chased after him as the victim took off running.

Along the way, the man called police, who arrived on the scene, and eventually captured the suspect, Aaron Kizer-Goff, 31, of Galloway.

When the suspect returned to his car, he reported approximately $1,100 in cash and loose change missing. Galloway Police say the money was recovered in Kizer'Goff's possession when he was arrested.

Kizer-Goff has been "charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and theft. Additionally, he was found to have an outstanding NCIC warrant out of Atlantic County. Kizer-Goff was lodged in The Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $35,000 bail."
