With more heavy rain in the forecast, officials in Hamilton Township will be lowering Lake Lenape starting this afternoon.

With anywhere from one to three inches of rain in the forecast, residents along the lake and river are asked to secure their properties appropriately. Docked boats on the lake should either be removed or anchored in deeper water as levels could decrease up to 24" by Friday afternoon.

Beginning late Friday night, water levels will begin to increase and may get close to flood stage by Sunday afternoon. The river and lake will remain high into the beginning of next week and flood gates will be adjusted as needed.
