A Jackson teen was seriously injured when he was thrown from the roof of a SUV, which then ran him over, authorities said.

Jackson Police said an intoxicated 16-year-old was on top of the Chevy Blazer as Ronald Adams Jr., 20, of Jackson did donuts with the car in the woods near Saint Monica's Church on West Veteran's Highway late Friday night.

The 16-year-old was flown via medical helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of a several broken ribs and internal injuries.

Adams was charged with underage drinking, underage driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and third degree assault by auto.

He is being held on $50,000 bail at the Ocean County Jail.
