Heroin Arrest in Middle Township

Early Thursday morning, Middle Township Police responded to the Wawa in Rio Grande for a report of two females fighting.

According to a press release, prior to arrival of patrol officers, the two females left the Wawa in different vehicles. An officer observed one of the vehicles and stopped it on Route 9 in Rio Grande. During the investigation an officer observed heroin under a rear seat passenger.

24-year-old Bryan Williams of Cape May Court House was arrested. Williams was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin. Seized from the vehicle and Williams were five bundles of heroin and a large amount of cash. Williams was placed in Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $15,000 bail.

It was later determined that the two women from the original fight call were engaged in a mutual fight. They were not charged with any offense.
