2-year-old Addie Gill of Northfield has a rare brain malformation called polymicrogyria that has caused her to miss developmental milestones and has given her severe behavioral issues. Two fundraisers are coming up, which may be able to assist Addie and her family.

According to an article in The Press of Atlantic City, keeping Addie safe from herself is a struggle and only one thing has seemed to help -- her grandfather's dog, Cooper.

Addie's parents have been in contact with 4 Paws for Ability, a non-profit organization that places service dogs with disabled kids and veterans, about getting a service dog for Addie. At a cost of at least $22,000, Addie's parents are turning to the community for help.

There are two fundraisers coming up, should you wish to help: this Sunday, May 19th, at Kiddie Korner Day Care in Egg Harbor Township from 1 to 4PM -- featuring prizes, games, and more -- and a beef and beer on June 2nd from 4 to 7PM at DiOrio's Cafe in Somers Point.
