Fatal Accident Friday Morning in Hamilton Township

Just before 6:00 Friday morning, Hamilton Township Police responded to an accident on Wrangleboro Road near Consumer Square Shopping Center that claimed the life of a Mays Landing man.

Upon arrival, officers determined that the accident involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was being operated by Jose Santana of Mays Landing, and a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by Karyan Israel of Easton, PA.

The preliminary investigation revealed Santana was heading northbound on Wrangleboro Road when the vehicle operated by Israel, who was heading southbound, made a left turn into Consumer Square in front of the motorcycle.

Santana was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by paramedics from AtlantiCare Medical Center and Isreal was transported to the AtlantiCare Medical Center - Mainland Campus by Hamilton Rescue with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is being investigated. No charges have been issued at this time pending the outcome of the investigation. Anyone traveling in the area at the time of crash who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Township of Hamilton Police Department.
