A man and woman from Connecticut were arrested late Tuesday in Galloway and charged with burglaries at four area businesses.

According to the Galloway Township Police Facebook page, Nicholas Provencher, 36, and Stella Vassiliou, 31, were seen driving from the Leeds Point Shopping Center after the stores were closed Tuesday in a car that fit the description of a vehicle used in previous thefts.

Patrol officer Alex Bennett stopped the black Mazda 3 after noticing this vehicle leaving the area of the closed businesses. After a brief investigation, stolen jewelry was located inside that vehicle. Eventually a search warrant was obtained and executed on the suspect’s hotel room at the Casino Inn in Absecon which lead to further evidence and recovered stolen property.

Both suspects were charged with four (4) counts of burglary, theft and for being in possession of burglary tools. These two individuals have been charged with breaking into the following Galloway Township businesses:

-The Athenian Garden on 10/19/15
-All Seasons Salon on 10/20/15
-The Jewelry Box on 10/21/15
-Jo Jo’s Pizza on 10/21/15

Both suspects were lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $50,000 full cash bail. Additional charges against these suspects are pending further investigation.

Police are advising that they believe that these suspects are only responsible for some of the Township’s recent business burglaries. Police believe that there are other individual(s) that are still on the loose that are responsible for several other unsolved burglaries. Residents and business owners are reminded to remain vigilant.
