Officers with the Atlantic City Police Department will be out early Tuesday morning spreading holiday cheer to local families and homeless individuals.

Starting at 6AM tomorrow morning, "Outreach at the Beach" will kick-off at Florida Avenue and the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.  Officers will be in search of homeless people who may be sleeping on the beach or under the boardwalk. Local service organizations, such as the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and Jewish Family Services, will also be on-hand to provide any help, like transportation to a shelter and counseling. Meanwhile, other officers will be delivering some 500 boxed lunches to pre-selected households throughout the city.

In a press release, the Atlantic City Police Department says this is just one way that officers show members of the community that they care about them and it helps building partnerships with residents in the city.
