Atlantic City Police are investigating two recent shootings. One male from Atlantic City has been charged while another suspect remains at large.

This past Sunday morning, officers responded to the 600 block of Green Street following a ShotSpotter alert and several 911 calls reporting gunshots in that area. No crime scene or victims were located at the time. About 90 minutes after they responded, 24-year-old Luke Darnell of Atlantic City was dropped off at ARMC-City with gunshot wounds to his left leg. An investigation revealed Darnell’s injuries were related to the earlier shooting.

Meanwhile, this past Tuesday evening, at about 7:20, officers responded to the area of 1500 Westminster Place in Stanley Holmes Village following a ShotSpotter Alert and several 911 calls. Officers recovered spent shell casings were recovered. Shortly thereafter, 24-year-old Seleem Reynolds of Atlantic City was dropped off at ARMC-City with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. An investigation lead to an arrest warrant being issued for 21-year-old Tajideen Austin of Atlantic City for the shooting of Reynolds.

A search warrant was executed at Austin’s residence by members of the Atlantic City Police Department SWAT Team and seven people were arrested, including Austin. Evidence and narcotics were also recovered from the residence including 185 bags of heroin.

In addition to Austin's arrest, also arrested were 19-year-old Taquan Callaway of Atlantic City, 20-year-old Khadr Ardis of Pleasantville, 23-year-old Mariah Coley of Atlantic City, 22-year-old Jabril Mason of Atlantic City, 24-year-old Mykehl Austin of Atlantic City, and 28-year-old Terrance Barley of Atlantic City.
