Atlantic City Municipal Budget Approved With No Municipal Tax Increase

In what is very good news for the residents of Atlantic City, the city's 2015 municipal budget has been approved without a municipal tax increase.

In a press release, Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian said the city was facing a $101 million deficit and after months of hard work, the New Jersey Local Finance Board has approved the city's 2015 municipal budget with a zero percent municipal tax increase, although residents will still see a 2% increase due to the county school district portions.

Guardian went on to say, "From the first day I took office, I stated my goal was to stabilize Atlantic City’s property taxes and to get our financial house in order again. Our team and City Council have worked countless hours to reduce costs of local government while maintaining quality services to our residents and businesses. We have partnered on all levels of government, especially with the State and Federal government, with the objective of not having to increase taxes on our already tax-burdened residents and businesses. I am proud to say that together we have accomplished our mission for the 2015 municipal budget."
