Sports Illustrated sure seems to think so after ranking Philly fans as the most hated fan base as part of its NFL's Worst list.

While everybody will have their own opinion in the debate, many of the factors SI's Doug Farrar cites are old news.

Some have even taken on a sort of mythical lore.

At the top of that list is a 1968 incident when fans hurled snowballs at a man dressed as Santa Claus.

The second part of their reasoning stems from the 1998 installation of a jail inside the bowels of Veteran's Stadium.

Then, of course, there's the 1999 booing of Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin, who lay motionless on the turf from a neck injury that would end his career.

One positive that no critic can deny is the fan base's passion and attendance, regardless of how the team is faring. That trend has continued from the team's first home at the Baker Bowl to the current, Lincoln Financial Field.

Many would argue that every fan base has its own pockets of rowdy, over-the-line agitators.

Do you agree with SI's assessment? Do Philly fans take it to that next, hated level?

If not them, who would you rank as the NFL's most hated fanbase?
