Lower Township police are advising customers of a Bank of America Branch in Cape May County to monitor their bank accounts after another electronic skimming device was found on an ATM.

According to the Cape May County Herald, Lower Township police officers responded to the North Cape May Branch of Bank of America on Bayshore Road to investigate an electronic skimming device that was found on an ATM last week. The investigation revealed that the device was placed on the machine on Saturday afternoon, August 10th.

This latest discovery of a skimmer follows another device that was placed on an ATM at TD Bank on Tilton Road in Northfield. In that case, at least five people reported money being illegally withdrawn from their accounts.

Local police departments are asking ATM users to be vigilant while using their debit cards. If you suspect a machine has possibly been tampered with, they should call the local authorities immediately.
