87-Year-Old Man Struck By Car, Killed on Route 9 in Middle Township

An 87-year-old man from Green Creek was killed Tuesday night as he was crossing a busy section of Route 9 in Middle Township.

Middle Township Police responded to the area of Route 9 and Shellbay Avenue around 9:15 Tuesday night. An initial report says Brendyn Anaya was traveling southbound on Route 9 when he struck 87-year-old Howard Severance of Green Creek, who was crossing the road. Severance was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Traffic was detoured around the scene for three hours. Middle Township Police continue to investigate the accident.
