The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has approved a $1 million subsidy to bring at least twelve big concerts to Atlantic City in 2015.

On the heels of two hugely successful free beach concerts this past summer, The Press of Atlantic City is reporting the CRDA is providing Live Nation, one of the largest concert promoters in the country, with $500,000 in subsidies and another $500,000 to protect the company from any losses to bring at least a dozen -- maybe more -- big shows to Boardwalk Hall next year. Obviously, the likelihood of concerts at Boardwalk Hall being free, like the Blake Shelton and Lady Antebellum beach concerts, is practically zero, but this is huge news as Atlantic City transitions from a gambling town to one with a wider array of entertainment options.
